Obtained from the fruit, seeds, and kernels of plants by hot or cold pressing methods. Cold pressing is preferred over the hot method because vitamins, minerals, and other healthy substances in the oil are destroyed by heat. Cold-pressed oils are of higher quality and contain a higher percentage of active ingredients.
