Niacinamide-Vitamin B3-Raw Material
Product Name : Niacinamide-Vitamin B3
Inci name : Niacinamide
Cas. No. : 98-92-0
Properties and areas of use: Niacinamide is a widely used ingredient in skincare. It is preferred for its stability and effectiveness in both water-based and oil-based formulations. Niacinamide is effective over a wide pH range without causing skin sensitivity, making it suitable for most skin types. It can also be used in combination with other active ingredients (e.g., hyaluronic acid, retinol, peptides, and antioxidants). It is used in serums and creams to balance skin tone and reduce dark spots. Anti-wrinkle creams and serums contain niacinamide. In moisturizers, it is used to strengthen the skin barrier and keep the skin hydrated. It is a sebum regulator in cleansers, toners, and serums formulated for acne-prone skin. It is used to reduce under-eye dark circles and fine lines. It is found in after-sun creams and lotions to soothe and regenerate the skin. It can be used to soothe the scalp and improve hair health.
Physical Form: It is generally a white to slightly yellowish, crystalline powder. It is odorless, making it suitable for use in cosmetics and skincare products. Its melting point is approximately 128°C - 131°C.
Recommended pH range: The most stable and effective range is pH 5.0-7.0. Within this pH range, niacinamide can be included in formulations without degrading.
Solubility: Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) is a water-based solvent and is very soluble in water. However, its solubility in oil-based solvents is limited.
Function: It evens out skin tone by regulating melanin production and reduces the appearance of hyperpigmentation. It provides relief for sensitive skin by reducing redness and inflammation. It reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It increases skin elasticity. It controls sebum in acne-prone skin by balancing oil production. It strengthens the skin's natural barrier functions, prevents water loss, and moisturizes. It provides protection against free radicals, enhancing the skin's defense against environmental damage.
Recommended usage rate: For general skincare, skin tone evening, fine lines, and wrinkles, %2-5; for skin blemishes, hyperpigmentation, and more pronounced skin problems, %5-10; for soothing and repairing skin after sun exposure, %1-3; for severe skin problems, excessive oiliness, or noticeable signs of aging, %10-20 is recommended. Higher concentrations should be used with caution as they may cause skin sensitivity. When using concentrations above 5%, it is recommended to test on a small area to check for skin sensitivity.
