Properties and areas of use: It is an organic compound obtained from the saturated fatty alcohols of coconut. As it is lighter than cetyl alcohol, it can be used in baby care and sensitive skin products. It has low comedogenic and irritation scores. It is used as an emulsion stabilizer, opacifying agent, foam-boosting surfactant, and viscosity-increasing agent.
