Properties and Uses: It has oil-absorbing, mattifying, surface-modifying, and thickening properties. It reduces shine on the skin and makes the skin look smoother. Silica Valvance adds viscosity to formulations and strengthens the structure of products. It also helps oil-based ingredients mix with water-based ingredients. It is preferred in makeup products, sunscreens, and skincare masks.
Physical Form: White, fine powder.
Recommended pH range: Remains stable between pH 4.0 - 7.0.
Solubility: Insoluble in water, but soluble in oil.
Recommended usage rate: Silica Valvance is used at 1-5% in mattifying creams, moisturizing products, makeup primers, powders, and hair care products. For skincare products, serums, day creams, and night masks, a 1-2% usage rate is recommended for skin mattifying. A 5-10% usage rate provides a strong mattifying effect, especially in powder and makeup products.
