Plant material is added to a fixed oil obtained by cold pressing from the fruit, seed, or kernel of a plant and allowed to macerate for an appropriate time and temperature according to the plant's characteristics. This transfers the active compounds from the plant into the fixed oil in which it is macerated. It is used after filtration.
