It's very easy to make a gentle, lightly foaming, and all-natural face cleanser at home, suitable for sensitive skin! With a combination of decyl glycoside and cocamidopropyl betaine, you get a product that deeply cleanses the skin without irritation.
Required Ingredients (for ~100ml)
- Decyl Glycoside — 15% (alternative: SCI powder 20%, Sodium Coco Sulfate)
- Cocamidopropyl Betaine — 8% (alternative: Poly Suga Mulse D9)
- Allantoin — 0.3%
- Provitamin B5 — 1%
- Pentylene Glycol — 2% (alternative: Glycerin)
- Aloe Vera Extract (water-soluble) — 3% (alternative: Oat Extract, Green Tea Extract)
- Herbal Preservative — 1%
- Distilled Water — 69.7%
- Tea Tree Essential Oil — 0.5% (optional, alternative: Lavender, Peppermint)
Production Process
- Use distilled water at room temperature (no heating required).
- Slowly add decyl glycoside and cocamidopropyl betaine to the water — fast mixing creates foam, stir slowly.
- Add allantoin, provitamin B5, and pentylene glycol, stir until dissolved.
- Add aloe vera extract.
- Add the preservative.
- pH control: The pH for face cleanser should be 5–6. Adjust with citric acid.
- Add essential oil (optional).
- Fill into a foam pump bottle.
Duration: ~20 minutes
