It's incredibly easy to make a chemical-free, all-natural, dreamily scented lip balm at home! With cocoa butter, shea butter, and natural pigments, you'll get a lip balm that's both nourishing and colorful.
Ingredients Needed (for ~10g)
- Pure Beeswax — 15% (alternatives: Rice Bran Wax, Sugarcane Wax)
- Cocoa Butter — 20% (alternatives: Shea Butter, Mango Butter)
- Castor Oil — 30% (alternatives: Avocado Oil, Jojoba Oil)
- Shea Butter — 15% (alternatives: Mango Butter, Avocado Butter)
- CCT — 10% (alternative: Almond Oil)
- Vitamin E — 1%
- COVAPEARL Pink Pigment — 2% (alternatives: UNIPURE RED, Mica/SERICA 5)
- Vanilla Essential Oil — 1% (alternatives: Peppermint, Orange Peel)
Production Process
- Melt the beeswax and butters: Melt beeswax, cocoa butter, and shea butter at 70–75°C.
- Add oils: Add castor oil and CCT, mix.
- Pigment dispersion: Premix the pigment with CCT, grind well to avoid lumps. Add to the mixture.
- Cool: Stir until it cools down to 45°C.
- Add essential oil and vitamin E.
- Fill quickly: Pour into lip balm tubes or small jars — it solidifies quickly!
- Let stand at room temperature for 30 minutes.
